Broncos Update: Depth Chart Shifts Post-Free Agency Moves
Following the early stage of NFL free agency, the Denver Broncos The team has 66 players listed. As the draft remains over a month ahead, let’s take a fresh look at the squad’s (anticipated) depth chart.
Broncos (projected) depth chart
Quarterback (2)

- QB1: Bo Nix
- QB2: Jarrett Stidham
Stidham returns as Nix's backup. Expect the Broncos to add a third-string quarterback this spring.
Running back (4)

- RB1: Jaleel McLaughlin
- RB2: Audric Estime
- RB3: Tyler Badie
- RB4: Blake Watson
Esteem might develop into a top backup running back in his sophomore year, and McLaughlin appears ready to maintain his role as a specialist. However, Denver is likely seeking a new primary running back this off-season.

- LG: Ben Powers , Calvin Throckmorton
- C: Luke Wattenberg , Alex Forsyth
- RG: Quinn Meinerz Nick Gargiulo, Will Sherman
- RT: Mike McGlinchey , Alex Palczewski
The same starting front five from last season returns. Denver could use more depth and competition at center and a long-term developmental tackle.
Defensive line (8)

- DE: Zach Allen , Eyioma Uwazurike, Matt Henningsen
- DT: D.J. Jones , Malcolm Roach, Jordan Miller
- DE: John Franklin-Myers , Jordan Jackson
Much like with the offensive line, the Broncos possess a solid core of starters yet lack significant depth for the future beyond this unit. Consequently, Denver could choose to focus on drafting a defensive lineman sooner than many supporters anticipate.
Outside linebacker (5)

- OLB1: Jonathon Cooper
- OLB2: Nik Bonitto
- OLB3: Jonah Elliss
- OLB4: Dondrea Tillman
- Depth: Andrew Farmer
The Broncos have an excellent four-player rotation of pass rushers, but they could still use an all-around outside linebacker who can set the edge and defend the run.
Inside linebacker (6)

- ILB1: Dre Greenlaw , Justin Strnad
- ILB2: Alex Singleton , Drew Sanders
- ST: Levelle Bailey, K.J. Cloyd
After signing a significant contract during free agency, Greenlaw has become a fixed starter, whereas Singleton’s position remains unclear following his return from a ruptured ACL. Both Strnad and Sanders will have chances to vie for a starting role, with Bailey also emerging as a potential underdog to watch closely.
Cornerback (7)

- CB1: Pat Surtain
- CB2: Riley Moss
- Slot: Ja'Quan McMillian
- CB4: Kris Abrams-Draine , Damarri Mathis
- Depth: Quentin Newsome, Reese Taylor
After coming back from an injury, Moss had some difficulties during the previous season. However, prior to getting hurt, he performed exceptionally well and is expected to retain his starting position opposite PS2 in 2025.
Safety (8)

- S1: Brandon Jones
- S2: Talanoa Hufanga
- Dime: P.J. Locke
- S4: Devon Key
- ST: J.L. Skinner, Delarrin Turner-Yell-Owned
- Depth: Keidron Smith, Tanner McCalister
Locke has been replaced as the starter by Hufange, but he should still have opportunities to share playing time through rotations.
Special teams (2)

- K Wil Lutz
- LS Mitchell Fraboni
