Cummins Reacts as LSG Triumphs: 'Still a Very Good Wicket' Over SRH's Five-Wicket Defeat

Quickfire half-centuries from Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh, coupled with a fiery spell from Shardul Thakur , helped LSG chase down SRH totals 190 in an exhilarating match.

After the match, SRH captain Pat Cummins recognized the difficult circumstances but gave credit to LSG 'bowling attack due to their well-thought-out strategy.

"The conditions were quite distinct the other day, yet our objective remained to accumulate runs swiftly. Their batting performance stood out as impressive nonetheless. Despite these differences, both pitches have been excellent; this one ranked just behind what I consider the finest pitch globally. Reflecting on SRH Regarding his bowling display, the Australian fast bowler highlighted the importance of having a batsman who can steady the innings, much like Ishan Kishan did in their last game.

"Every time it's a fresh game, they bowled really well, it was very well planned. It was a pretty good effort to get to 190. You always need one person to bat throughout the innings, like Ishan (Kishan) did the other day, but they bowled really well, never let us off the hook," he added.

Even though their batting lineup is robust, Cummins acknowledged that SRH failed to take advantage of crucial opportunities.

"We have eight hitters, and it’s all about stepping up and making a difference. There are moments when you realize certain actions could have changed the outcome. This tournament is lengthy, and we’ll get another opportunity soon enough, so we must put this behind us," he finished.

Coming to the match, SRH was put to bat first by LSG , having chosen to bowl first. Shardul restrained LSG to 15/2, but a 61-run partnership between Travis Head (47 in 28 balls, with five fours and a six) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (32 in 28 balls, with two fours) stabilised the innings for a bit. During the run-chase, LSG Lost Aiden Markram early, but a 116-run partnership between Nicholas Pooran (70 off 26 deliveries featuring six boundaries and six maximums) and Mitchell Marsh (52 off 31 balls including seven fours and two sixes), along with an impressive late surge from Abdul Samad (22* off eight balls, hitting two fours and two sixes), propelled them.
