ABC Apologizes After Claudia Long Fabricates False Claims About Two High-Profile Politicians

The ABC has offered a humble apology following an erroneous accusation made by one of its reporters who falsely implicated two Nationals MPs for neglecting their constituencies during critical times when people are facing life-threatening situations. Claudia Long, the political correspondent for the national broadcaster, stated on "Insiders" last Sunday that National Party members of parliament were absent from their constituencies when the decision was made to dissolve the Coalition. "I believe another crucial aspect for regional areas is having a local representative present during times of crisis, such as floods where lives are lost—this situation occurred earlier this week," she explained to the show. Long particularly mentioned two individuals who perished in the flooding waters within Alison Penfold's potential electorate of Lyne on the Mid-North Coast. Additionally, he pointed out another fatality in Pat Conaghan’s constituency of Cowper, where...

‘Snow White' Enchants Viewers: A 'Visual Feast' and One of Disney’s Best Live-Action Adaptations in Years

Disney's live-action adaptation of "Snow White" has made its debut at the film's Hollywood premiere, with initial responses beginning to surface describing it as an impressive success for Disney.

Nation Daily News film reporter Katcy Stephan praised Rachel Zegler is described as "a dazzling supernova," with the movie being praised as a "visually stunning experience featuring remarkable new musical sequences along with an abundance of charming animated creatures." It’s noted that the script cleverly adds greater complexity to its protagonist by highlighting her strong ambition to fulfill her late father's faith in her capabilities, coupled with a romance that is as endearing as homemade apple pie.

Internet reviewer Christopher Ranks It wrote of the film, "‘Snow White' is not only one of their best live-action remakes in years, but it's also a film that recaptures the magic of the 1937 movie. Rachel Zegler IS Snow White, and she delivers such a magical performance."

Filmhounds editor Paul Klein echoed the praise with one caveat, writing that he "may regret saying this but ‘Snow White' is solid. I really enjoyed the musical numbers, particularly the opening one and the Queen's evil bop. Zegler was great in the lead role, and Gadot was fun. It's really the CGI dwarves that let the film down. The choice is baffling."

Snow White" is helmed by Marc Webb, known for directing "500 Days of Summer" and "The Amazing Spider-Man," and serves as a reinterpretation of Disney's 1937 animated masterpiece, "Snow White. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs ." Zegler stars in the title role, a princess who is forced into the forest after her stepmother, the Evil Queen (Gal Gadot), takes control of her parents' kingdom. Snow White meets the seven dwarfs and together they come up with a plan to win her kingdom back. Andrew Burnap also stars in the film as Snow White's newly-created love interest.

"She's not going to be saved by the prince," Zegler told Nation Daily News at D23 two years ago. "She's not going to be dreaming about true love. She's dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be."

Emmy award recipient Peter Dinklage from "Game of Thrones" similarly criticized the film for utilizing computer-generated imagery to portray the seven dwarfs instead of opting for actor performances in those parts.

"None intended, really, but I was quite surprised," he mentioned. "WTF" podcast In January 2024, they expressed pride about choosing a Latina actress for the role of Snow White. However, it’s important to remember that this is still the tale of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.’ Step back and consider what that means.”
